El Bicho

7 color lithograph

22"x28", 2015
Edition of 30

Ibrahim Miranda is an artist who lives and works in Havana, Cuba. He creates drawing and painting print hybrids using the common visual language of the map of Cuba, often depicting the island in anamorphic forms. In this lithograph, El Bicho means "the bug" in Spanish, drawing the island as some strange creature that has pushed and scared many friends family and loved ones away, while at the same time remaining a strong and vibrant community that has remained.

Ibrahim has exhibited world wide and has participated in the Havana Bienal. He has been a guest artist producing editions with Graphic Studio in FL and also with the Boston Printmakers.
