Born in 1946 in Paris, Gérard Garouste lives and works in Paris and Normandy. He is one of the leading figures in French art creating paintings and sculptures primarily figurative and allegorical  referencing both internal and external conflicts. Garouste shows with Galerie Templon, is a member of the Acedemy of Fine Arts of France, and is president of the non-profit organization La Source providing disadvantaged youth with opportunities to learn from professional artists.
