Dasha Shishkin is an artist living and working in NYC, who creates wildly imaginative, narrative, stories in painting, drawing, and print. This suite of 9 lithographs, plus the portfolio cover, were drawn directly onto lithographic stone as a sort of sketchbook. The immediacy of the line is confident, fresh, and unremorseful, depicting dark moods, high emotions, sinister stares, comedic acts, and sincere tenderness. Dasha possesses a rawness in her subjects that within all one can find both comfort and unease.
Dasha received her MFA from Columbia University, NY and has shown globally at numerous galleries and museums. Her work is in the collection of The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art. Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Art and is represented by Vielmetter Gallery, Los Angeles, CA and Nancy Littlejohn Fine Art in Houston, TX
